ZGCTA Secretary-General Invited to Attend and Deliver a Report at the Tengchong Scientists Forum & International Intellectual Property Innovative Cooperation Seminar South and Southeast Asia

Li Junkai Delivering a Keynote Report

Li Junkai, Secretary-General of the Zhongguancun Global High-level Think Tank Alliance (ZGCTA) and Director of the International and Regional Cooperation Center of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST) was invited to attend and deliver a keynote report at the Tengchong Scientists Forum & International Intellectual Property Innovative Cooperation Seminar South and Southeast Asia held on December 6-7, 2025, in Tengchong, Yunnan.

As an important series of activities for the 2025 Tengchong Scientists Forum, this seminar was jointly hosted by the Management Committee of Kunming High-tech Industrial Development Zone and the Kunming Administration for Market Regulation (Intellectual Property Office) under the auspices of the Patent Protection Association of China and the Intellectual Property Publishing House. Featuring Deepening International Cooperation in the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements to Boost the Innovative Development of High-Tech Industries, this seminar brought together government officials, academicians, experts, business representatives and leading figures in intellectual property from China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos among many countries and regions. Keynote speeches, output release, presentations and round-table discussion helped explore new pathways for international IP cooperation and build consensus for regional transformation of sci-tech outputs and industrial transformation.

Li Junkai delivered a keynote report, Promoting Multilateral Think Tank Exchanges and Cooperation, Advancing Regional Science and Technology Innovation, in which she introduced the achievements and core functions of ZGCTA as an international multilateral exchange platform. Since its establishment in 2020, ZGCTA has gathered 102 high-end think tanks from 19 countries and regions, accumulating practical experience in global sci-tech cooperation through joint research projects, brand activities and cultural exchanges. In response to South and Southeast Asia’s interests in innovation and development, she highlighted ZGCTA’s successful practices in flagship events, such as the “Belt and Road” International Sci-tech Cooperation and Training, APEC Women’s Digital Literacy Enhancement, and the Global High-level Think Tank Forum for Science & Technology Innovation, a parallel event of ZGC Forum. She underlined the necessity to fully leverage ZGCTA as a bridge to promote regional collaboration and talent exchange, contributing to an open, inclusive and mutually beneficial regional innovation ecosystem.

ZGCTA will further strengthen its cooperation with think tanks, universities, research institutions and enterprises in South and Southeast Asia in policy research, talent training and project matchmaking in support of coordinated regional sci-tech innovation and a community with a shared future for mankind.
